THE PROBLEM
Schools Prepare Students for Tests... Not for Life.
Research across the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region shows that the cost of living is extremely high.
In the Washington metropolitan area, a single adult must ear nearly $60,000 a year just to meet basic living
Yet workforce data shows that less than one-third of high school graduates earn wages above a living wage after graduation.

Most schools focus heavily on academics, but many students graduate without the life skills needed to succeed in the real world.
LACK REAL-WORLD SKILLS
Students often leave high school without knowing how to:

-
Manage money and credit
-
Create and follow a budget
-
Prepare for job interviews
-
Communicate professionally
-
Understand workplace expectastions
-
Build leadership and decision-making skills
-
Plan for careers or entrepreneurship

THE SOLUTION
The Prosperity Project
The Prosperity Project is a structured youth development program designed to prepare students for life beyond high school.
Through mentorship, leadership training, real-world experiences, and life-skills education, students gain the tools needed to become productive citizens and future leaders.

The Prosperity Pillars
Our program is built on six core pillars that prepare students for life, leadership, and long-term success.

Personal Development & Identity
We incorporate Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) because students cannot grow academically or professionally without having their basic needs, sense of belonging, and emotional development supported. This pillar focuses on self-awareness, confidence, character, and helping students understand who they are and who they are becoming.

Life Skills & Independence
Students learn practical everyday skills many schools never teach, including cooking basic meals, doing laundry, understanding driving readiness and transportation, managing time, and maintaining personal responsibilities. This pillar prepares students to confidently handle real-world responsibilities and independent living.
Together, these pillars form a structured pathway that prepares students to transition from high school to adulthood.
